The New York Street Advertising Takeover
You may have noticed artists tagging NYC in broad daylight last Saturday. Their efforts were a part of a project to replace street advertisements with “real” art. By the following day, however, the city had whitewashed most of their work. The relationship between artists and advertisers has always been troublesome. And today, we see many street artists gravitating towards the money – Shepherd Ferry, Neckface, and ESPO to name a few.
